The Rams will be without defensive tackle Aaron Donald when they face the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, this week, but defensive end Myles Garrett is ready to make his debut.
Head coach Sean McVay confirmed that Donald would not travel with the team for the season opener before saying Garrett is “ready to go.” Garrett returned to practice Sunday after missing time with a knee injury.
“He’s looked great,” McVay said via the team’s website. “We’ve been smart with Myles, like I’ve kind of told you guys, but his impact has been tremendous, his overall vibe, what kind of teammate he’s been. And so looking forward to getting him out there with the guys and being a great factor for us.”
The Rams will have to wait at least another week to see Donald and Garrett play together, but they will get their first look at Garrett’s impact in the coming days.
