Sean Ono Lennon and his partner, Charlotte Kemp Muhl, have announced the birth of their baby boy, marking a major milestone for the legendary musical family.

Sean Ono Lennon and Charlotte Kemp Muhl have announced the birth of their baby boy. The couple shared the happy news on social media Tuesday evening, posting a photo of their newborn on Instagram with the caption: “Created a Human Bean! His name is Aurelius! Thank you!” Aurelius is the first grandchild of Yoko Ono and John Lennon.

Sean shared additional photos of himself and Kemp Muhl cradling their newborn son, Aurelius, with one post affectionately captioned, “Baby Momma!”

While Sean has largely kept his private life out of the spotlight, the musician has spoken candidly about his role as the steward of his parents’ immense artistic legacy. In a December 2025 interview with CBS Sunday Morning, he discussed his responsibilities as the custodian of his father’s legacy, a role his mother, Yoko Ono, has meticulously protected and shaped for decades.

“But obviously the world is also the custodian of his legacy, I would say,” Sean noted. “I’m just doing my best to help make sure that the younger generation doesn’t forget about The Beatles and John and Yoko. That’s how I look at it.”

After John Lennon launched his solo career in 1970, following his marriage to Ono the year prior, the couple released the transcendent album Double Fantasy in 1980, just before Lennon’s tragic death. The record features the beloved song “Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy),” which Lennon wrote for Sean as a young child. The gentle track reflects John’s deep thoughts on parenthood and his dreams of watching his son grow up.

“My parents gave me so much that I think it’s the least I can do to try and support their legacy in my lifetime,” Sean told CBS. “I feel like I just owe it to them. It’s a personal thing.”
