The Seattle Seahawks announced Saturday that wide receiver Jake Bobo has been placed on season-ending injured reserve due to a knee injury, as reported by ESPN.

Bobo sustained the injury during Friday’s joint practice between the Seahawks and Tennessee Titans, and underwent knee testing later that day.

Originally an undrafted free agent from UCLA in 2023, Bobo has spent his entire NFL career with Seattle. He notably caught a 17-yard touchdown pass in the Seahawks’ 31-27 NFC Championship victory over the Los Angeles Rams, and appeared in all 17 regular-season games both in 2023 and 2024.

To fill the roster spot, the Seahawks signed wide receiver Julian Hicks last week. Hicks was subsequently waived to accommodate cornerback Trevon Diggs; prior to joining Seattle, he spent time on the Green Bay Packers’ practice squad.

In March, when Bobo was a restricted free agent, the Jacksonville Jaguars offered a two-year, $5.5 million contract, but the Seahawks matched the deal to retain him in Seattle.

Despite Bobo’s season-ending injury, Seattle’s wide receiver corps remains deep, featuring stars Cooper Kupp and Jaxon Smith-Njigba, with quarterback Sam Darnold leading the offense.

“It hurts, man,” Darnold said. “He’s one of those guys you work with daily, he talks a lot of trash, and he’s kind of like (Devon Witherspoon) offensively. He brings the energy every day and just does his job. Losing sucks, but I know he’ll attack recovery and be better when he returns.”

The defending Super Bowl champions will open their 2026 campaign at home against the New England Patriots on Wednesday, September 9.
