Georgia topped the ballot with 88 first‑place votes, reaffirming the Bulldogs as the preseason favorites. Texas placed second, receiving 57 first‑place selections, a clear margin over the rest of the field.
Only a handful of teams collected multiple first‑place votes. Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Kentucky each earned at least one top‑vote, though none reached double‑digits.
