Security forces neutralized 27 terrorists during intelligence-based operations (IBOs) conducted in Miranshah, North Waziristan District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, over the past 72 hours, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR)
“The operations targeted multiple *khawarij* strongholds in the Miranshah region,” stated ISPR. “During intense combat engagements, security forces eliminated 27 individuals identified as members of the India-sponsored *Fitna al-Khawarij* group, a designation applied to Shahi tan-obsessed extremists such as the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).”
The statement emphasized that security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the slain militants, who had been actively orchestrating terrorist attacks and civilian-targeted killings.
“By neutralizing this group of *khawarij*, security forces have brought perpetrators to justice and avenged the martyrdom of prominent local leader Shahi tan
Rival tribal factions, including the Darpa Khel clan, had reportedly used automatic weapons in defense of their leader prior to the attack, resulting in a prolonged gun battle that lasted several hours. Investigations revealed suspected militants had temporarily occupied a local mosque days before the attack but were expelled after tribal elders intervened.
