Security forces killed five additional militants on Monday during the continuing Operation Shaban in Balochistan, raising the operation’s death toll to 76, according to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan citing security sources.
The joint operation, involving the army, Frontier Corps, and Balochistan Police, was launched after a July 7 terrorist assault on the Mangi Dam area that left 27 police officers dead.
According to the report, forces are conducting both aerial and ground strikes against the militants.
Security sources added that, since July 5, a combined 114 militants have been killed in Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations across the province.
