Benn, 29, previously dismissed Garcia as a “spoiled brat” and compared his behavior to that of a “big child.”
“He throws tantrums on social media,” Benn remarked. “I’m not worried about this influencer. He isn’t a real fighter. His words won’t matter when we meet on September 12.”
Highlighting his own durability, Benn noted, “I’ve proven myself in 12-round wars. I don’t quit and I don’t stay down,” a direct reference to Garcia’s 2023 defeat against Gervonta Davis.
Garcia, 27, countered by claiming Benn lacks the skill to last twelve rounds. “You think I’ll let a fighter from the UK come here to take my belt? You’ve lost your mind,” Garcia stated.
Garcia, a California native of Mexican heritage, frequently represents both the United States and Mexico in the ring.
“I’ll knock you out and make you quit,” Benn added. “You have no heart. You aren’t Mexican, bro.”
Following the exchange, Benn—who spent 12 years growing up in Mallorca, Spain—shouted at Garcia in Spanish during the confrontation.
Garcia predicted a quick victory, claiming he would stop Benn within five rounds before security cleared the stage for the ceremonial face-off.
Standing behind his son, former world champion Nigel Benn repeatedly shouted challenges at Garcia, telling him, “You don’t have the heart. I’ll test your chin too.”
Garcia concluded by asserting, “This will be easy work. You aren’t good enough to beat me. Your father is going to have to stop the fight. I promise you.”
