Tim Seifert struck his second century of the Caribbean Premier League season, remaining unbeaten on 105 as the St Lucia Kings posted a total of 211 for four against the Trinbago Knight Riders.
Trinbago’s chase fell short, with the visitors bowled out for 175. Roston Chase’s three‑wicket burst in the middle overs proved decisive for St Lucia, lifting the Kings to the top of the table with eight points.
After being asked to bat, the Kings made a solid start, accumulating 64 for one in the powerplay. Kamil Pooran and Seifert forged a 60‑run partnership in just 34 balls, with Pooran contributing 25 off 17 deliveries and Seifert adding 31.
A brief interruption saw Pooran dismissed, but Seifert then combined with John Campbell for a further 75 runs in 38 balls. Campbell finished with 27 off 17, while Seifert continued his assault, reaching 78 in 38 balls before Charith Asalanka joined him.
Asalanka formed a 51‑run stand with Seifert in 36 deliveries, scoring 33 off 21 balls. The breakthrough arrived when Asalanka was dismissed at the end of the 18th over, leaving Seifert to complete his century in the final over, pulling a slower bouncer from Pollard for the winning run.
Trinbago had begun strongly, with Colin Munro and Sunil Narine compiling 56 runs in the powerplay. However, Chase’s spell of three wickets—removing Narine, Matthew Breetze and Nicholas Pooran—shifted the momentum. Pollard later mounted a rapid innings, reaching 65 off 25 balls, including six fours and five sixes, before being caught and bowled by Matthew Forde.
The Kings’ victory secured their position as the second team with eight points in the CPL standings, while Trinbago slipped to sixth place.
