Senegal’s bid to overturn its loss of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title will be formally contested at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on October 8, as confirmed this week. The arbitration hearing will be conducted behind closed doors at CAS headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The controversy centers on Senegal’s dramatic 1-0 victory in the January final against Morocco, which ended after extra time.
