Amanda Serrano successfully defended her WBA and WBO featherweight titles with a majority decision victory over Argentina’s Lucrecia Manzur in history’s first world title fight streamed live on TikTok.
Despite being taken the distance, the Puerto Rican retained her belts, moving to 50-4(1) overall while missing the chance to earn her 33rd career knockout—the feat needed to break the women’s record previously held by Christy Martin.
Serrano’s 50th career win came via scores of 114-114, 116-112, and 116-112 after 12 two-minute rounds contested in Temecula, California.
Manzur, 27, pressured the champion early with sharp right hands, but Serrano began asserting control from round nine onwards, finishing the bout strongly to secure the narrow majority verdict.
The 37-year-old remains one of women’s boxing’s most bankable draws, with her previous trilogy with Katie Taylor generating massive viewing numbers—including six million viewers on Netflix in 2023 and over 50 million on the platform for their 2024 rematch.
Friday’s TikTok main event also proved popular, drawing 3.4 million total views across the platform.
After the fight, Serrano expressed her pride: “I’m so happy and honoured. That was the first championship main event fight on TikTok—super excited, super honoured.”
Regarding her opponent, Serrano added: “I knew this girl was tough. She’s young—27, 10 years younger than me. These girls are getting younger and stronger. She was hungry, and I knew that coming into training. I trained very hard because I knew it was an opportunity for her, so I had to bring my A-game.”
Martin, who watched from ringside, continues to support Serrano: “No matter what, I’m always in her corner.”
With the win, Serrano now sets her sights on breaking Martin’s record in what she hopes will be her farewell fight, potentially taking place in Puerto Rico later this year or in early 2027.
