British authorities announced the detention of a seventh individual on Tuesday in connection with a significant security incident that occurred at RAF Fairford last month.
The airbase serves as a launch point for United States operations, including strikes on Iran. Six men in their 20s had already been arrested and released on bail following the stoppage of three suspicious vans near the facility in southwest England on September 27.
The latest arrest comes a day after President Donald Trump confirmed that all B-1 bombers had been withdrawn from the base due to threats he believed were linked to Tehran. Britain’s Counter-Terrorism Policing network stated that the 22-year-old British male was detained in London “on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts”.
