Disney has confirmed that Shari Rosenblum has departed the company, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Rosenblum left Disney after six years with the company, accepting a voluntary buyout package as part of Disney’s voluntary early retirement program for eligible executives.

Rosenblum had served as senior vice president of communications and publicity for Disney Television Studios. She joined the team from Twentieth Century Fox Television in 2019, having previously been with the Fox television studio since 2005. She led publicity campaigns for series including Modern Family, Homeland and The Dropout. Rosenblum is an alum of the University of Arizona and Boston University.

Disney has undergone significant layoffs in recent months. Chief Executive Officer Josh D’Amaro cut hundreds of jobs in September, following earlier workforce reductions in July and April. The latest round came after a larger layoff in April and years of continued cost-cutting.

“I’m moving on from my Disney-Fox career with nothing but extreme gratitude,” Rosenblum said. “I’m grateful to Dana [Walden] and Gary [Newman] for taking a chance on an ambitious young publicist over two decades ago, and to the many mentors and champions I’ve had along the way, including Shannon Ryan and Candice Ashton. It’s been a privilege to tell stories for our industry’s top storytellers, especially during this last stretch, with Karey Burke and the incredible executives at 20th TV. I feel beyond fortunate to have worked alongside the most talented and brilliant minds in our industry, and have a deep appreciation for the business of television, the people in it, the shows they make, and the journalists who report on it all.”

“Shari has led PR for Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television and 20th Television Animation with equal parts brilliance and grace,” Ashton said in part in an internal email obtained by THR. “Few people have shaped the voice and reputation of our studio the way she has. Shari is a consummate pro, and an advocate and champion for so many of our teams and creative partners. She has also been a wonderful partner through every curveball along the way, and we’ve shared many laughs together that I will miss very much.”
