Shemar Stewart returns to practice Wednesday

Bengals defensive end Shaemer Stewart returned to practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN’s Ben Baby.

It represented Stewart’s first session following the hyperextension of his left knee during the initial practice of training camp on July 29.

Though he was rushed off the field early when what seemed like a major injury emerged, an MRI scan confirmed there was no ligament damage, enabling Stewart to begin rehabilitating and resume full-field work approximately five weeks prior.

The player wore a knee brace throughout Wednesday’s session.

Selected as the 2025 Draft’s No. 17 overall pick, Stewart suffered extended absences last season dealing with right ankle and left knee injuries. He appeared in eight games total, logging five starts as a rookie.

Statistically, Stewart recorded one sack along with two tackles for loss, four quarterback hits, and one pass defended in the previous campaign.
