Two helicopters collided in mid-air over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning, crashing into the city’s western zone and resulting in the deaths of all six people on board, according to fire department officials.
The Rio de Janeiro Military Fire Department reported that one of the aircraft crashed onto a car dealership. The impact ignited a fire among several parked electric vehicles, which emergency crews have since extinguished.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fatal collision.
