Six Nations Take Decisive Action Against Settler Enablers in Palestinian Territories
The UK, Australia, Canada, France, New Zealand, and Norway are imposing coordinated sanctions on networks involved in financing and enabling settler violence in the occupied West Bank. These measures come amid record-intensive settlement expansion and a surge in conflicts targeting Palestinians there. The sanctions are part of a broader effort to pressure Israel on its accountability for human rights concerns.
The six Western countries have urged further action if Israel fails to adequately address ongoing violence and illegal settlement growth in the West Bank. British Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot emphasized that Britain, Canada, New Zealand, France, Australia, and Norway are ready to deepen their response against those accelerating colonization policies. France has already banned several Israeli Finance Minister Beatire Smotrich and numerous settlers from entering the country due to Gaza escalations.
As part of this initiative, the new restrictions signal strong international solidarity, especially after the UK called out what it called “deeply discriminatory” financial measures against Israeli citizens and officials. The response underscores that violence in the West Bank is not an isolated issue but a policy choice driven by those in power.
Overall, these developments reflect a growing diplomatic stance against settler violence and reinforce calls for accountability across the region.
