Alamein, Egypt — Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has called on African and international investors to explore emerging opportunities in Somalia, highlighting the nation’s ongoing economic reconstruction and its openness to global business.

Speaking at the Alamein-Africa Business Forum in the Egyptian coastal city of Alamein, the summit gathered African leaders, ministers, business executives, investors, and key financial institutions to foster continental collaboration.

“Somalia is not merely a nation recovering from conflict; it is a country actively rebuilding and reforming its economy. We are open to trade and investment, and we welcome anyone ready to build with us,” President Hassan stated.

The president highlighted significant global economic and political shifts, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced cooperation and economic integration across African nations.

He urged African businesses, corporations, and international investors to capitalize on the abundant opportunities available in Somalia, noting that productive investment is essential for job creation, economic expansion, and sustainable development.

President Hassan further noted that Africa’s economic future hinges on strengthened cooperation and investment, with nations collaborating to develop trade, infrastructure, financing, and inter-market connectivity.

The forum provided Somalia with a valuable platform to showcase its economic and investment potential while forging new trade and business partnerships with participants from across Africa and beyond.

Having endured decades of conflict and political instability, Somalia has in recent years actively sought to attract investment and expand its economy as the government pursues comprehensive economic reforms and institutional strengthening.
