The standout performer with the ball was South Africa captain Bjorn Fortuin, who produced a career-defining spell that anchored the Proteas bowling lineup. The left-arm spinner claimed four crucial wickets for just 33 runs across his 10 overs, maintaining an impressive economy rate of 3.30 and consistently stifling Namibia’s batting order.
Fortuin Steers South Africa with Career-Best Bowling Figures
Fortuin was directly responsible for triggering Namibia’s batting collapse, removing key players at pivotal moments. He dismissed opener Louren Steenkamp for 23, before casting aside captain Gerhard Erasmus for just three and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton for four. Returning later in his spell, Fortuin sealed his four-wicket haul by dismissing Waldo Smith for two, underscoring his dominance throughout the innings.
His control was exceptional; across his 10 overs, Fortuin conceded only 33 runs while striking regularly, giving South Africa a massive advantage during the middle phase of the game.
Complementing Fortuin’s heroics, Kwena Maphaka and Nqabayomzi Peter each took two wickets, while Corbin Bosch added one to the tally. Nqobani Mokoena bowled five tight overs without taking a wicket but remained a steady presence in the attack.
Namibia’s Batting Falters Despite Brave Individual Shows
Despite determined efforts from Alexander Volschenk and Zane Green, Namibia struggled to build meaningful partnerships throughout their innings.
Volschenk top-scored with 31 runs, while wicketkeeper-batter Green contributed a solid 33. Steenkamp chipped in with 23, and Max Heingo remained unbeaten on 20 at the crease. However, inconsistent strokeplay and poor shot selection led to regular wickets, leaving the hosts unable to mount a competitive total.

The slide began early when Michael van Lingen was dismissed for just two. Soon after, Namibia lost Jan Frylinck, Steenkamp, and Volschenk in quick succession, collapsing from 41/1 to 62/5. Jordan Hermann starred with the bat, slamming 77 off 59 balls to guide the Proteas closer to victory. Though he was the lone dismissal in the chase, his explosive knock set the tone for a dominant finish.
His opening partner Connor Esterhuizen provided excellent resistance and finished unbeaten on 68, ensuring minimal pressure on the batting crease. In the end, it was Dewald Brevis who delivered the final flourish, launching a six off Max Heingo to seal the win and officially hand South Africa a series whitewash.
