Romanda Hombir, Miss World South Africa, has won the 2026 Miss World Africa Head‑to‑Head Challenge, earning a direct berth into the Miss World semifinals.
Her standout performance came at the Head‑to‑Head (H2H) Challenge held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
She outperformed the other continental finalists—Nigeria’s Soye Karibi George, Kenya’s Trizah Muhenje Akala, Zambia’s Dr. Adah Mushibi, and Eritrea’s Snit Habteab Tewoldemedhin—securing a direct spot in the Miss World Top 40.
In her emotional victory speech, Romanda opened up about her health journey, noting the difficulty of speaking candidly on her struggles due to societal stigma that often portrays women as weak.
She now joins fellow continental winners—Georgia‑Lee Gill of Trinidad and Tobago, Asia Rose Simpson of the Philippines, and Julia Kühnle of Germany—who have also qualified for the competition.
Romanda Hombir is a 27‑year‑old clinical audiologist, community health advocate, and model from Mpumalanga, South Africa.
