Soybean futures are posting early Wednesday gains of 4 to 6 cents per bushel. The market extended its recovery on Tuesday, closing 11 ½ to 14 cents higher across all contract months. Open interest declined by a modest 1,719 contracts, indicating limited position unwinding. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price climbed 13 1/4 cents to $12.01. Soymeal futures ended steady to $1.10 higher, while Soy Oil rebounded with gains ranging from 39 to 101 points.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a private export sale of 132,000 metric tons of soybeans to unknown destinations during Monday’s trading session.

The latest Weekly Crop Progress report from the National Agricultural Statistics Service indicated that 91% of the U.S. soybean crop had reached the pod-setting stage by August 23, with 6% beginning to drop leaves. Overall condition ratings declined 1 percentage point to 60% rated good to excellent. The Brugler500 index dropped 4 points to 357, reflecting deteriorating crop conditions. North Dakota saw the most significant decline with a 19-point drop, followed by Ohio and South Dakota each down 5 points, Indiana off 3 points, Illinois, Minnesota, and Missouri each losing 2 points, and Iowa down 1 point.

Brazilian consultancy Agroconsult projects the country’s soybean acreage at 49.2 million hectares, equivalent to approximately 121.58 million acres, marking a slight increase from the previous year.

China’s state-owned grain stockpiler Sinograin sold 222,782 metric tons of imported soybeans out of the 290,000 metric tons offered at its Wednesday overnight auction.

Key futures prices at market close on Tuesday included September 2026 soybeans at $12.28, up 12 cents, with the current session showing additional gains of 5 3/4 cents. Nearby cash prices stood at $12.01 1/1, up 13 1/4 cents. November 2026 soybeans settled at $12.37 3/4, up 13 1/2 cents, trading 4 1/2 cents higher in early Wednesday action. January 2027 soybeans closed at $12.52 1/4, up 14 cents, also adding 4 1/2 cents overnight. New crop cash prices reached $11.80 1/2, up 12 1/2 cents.
