Spurs Linked with Monaco Forward Folarin Balogun Ahead of Summer Transfer Window

Tottenham Hotspur have expressed interest in signing Monaco striker Folarin Balogun during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Football Insider reports that Tottenham have already made their interest in the 25‑year‑old striker clear, following his standout World Cup campaign. Balogun netted three times in four matches for the co‑hosts and helped them reach the round of 16.

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Tottenham, as we’ve mentioned previously, are looking to bolster their attacking reinforcements and bring more players in.

“Balogun could be one who could be available and relatively cheap, because he’s only got two years left on his contract, so I don’t think Monaco would be demanding too big a fee for the USA striker.

“He’s not the only forward on Tottenham’s radar. I don’t think there’s anything too imminent on a possible move for him as well. He’s just one of those players that’s on the radar for Tottenham, there’s nothing advanced on it.”

His impressive season with Monaco saw him net 19 goals across all competitions, prompting Tottenham to consider him as a potential addition to bolster their attacking options. Balogun, who progressed through Arsenal’s academy, is expected to bring physicality and goal‑scoring ability to the final third.

Monaco signed him for a £25 million fee in 2023 and are eager to recoup their investment. With only two years remaining on his contract, Monaco are unlikely to demand a premium price, making a move feasible for a reasonable fee this summer.

A move to England would be an exciting opportunity for Balogun, who believes he is at the peak of his career and aims to establish himself in the Premier League, feeling he still has unfinished business in English football.

Tottenham require an attacker who can challenge Dominic Solanke for a starting berth. Solanke’s inconsistent goal return has left the club eager for additional competition, and Balogun could provide that.

The 25‑year‑old USA international could share the goalscoring responsibility with Tottenham’s front‑line, offering a viable option to lessen the burden on the club’s primary striker.
