Tottenham will be hoping to end its worrying goal drought and book a place in the EFL Cup fourth round as the North Londoners travel to Anfield to face a Liverpool side still looking to find its feet under new boss Andoni Iraola.
The hosts have made a slow start to life under former Bournemouth boss Iraola, with the Reds’ disappointing 0-0 stalemate at home to Fulham marking their third draw in their opening four English Premier League fixtures.
Tottenham’s form is even more concerning heading into this game. Despite spending a massive £314 million ($424 million USD) during the summer transfer window, Spurs don’t appear to have improved significantly from the form that almost saw them relegated from the Premier League last season.
With just two points from their opening four games and not a single goal scored in those fixtures, manager Roberto De Zerbi will be hoping his side can finally find its attacking spark and kickstart the season.
Liverpool takes on Tottenham on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Anfield, with kickoff set for 8 p.m. BST. That makes it a 3 p.m. ET or 12 p.m. PT start in the US and Canada and a 5 a.m. AEST kickoff in Australia on Wednesday morning.
