During a visit to the Saudi-Pakistan Real Estate Exhibition in Lahore, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the need to transform Pakistan’s historical ties with Saudi Arabia into robust economic partnerships, highlighting the importance of fostering investment between the nations.
The three-day event, held at Lake City in Lahore from October 21, brings together stakeholders from both countries to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral cooperation in real estate. As Saudi Arabia opens property investment to foreign buyers, the exhibition enables Saudi developers to engage potential investors in Pakistan.
The initiative is part of increasing efforts by both nations to enhance economic relations, with real estate and property development emerging as key areas for cross-border investment.
Speaking at the event, Zardari underscored the significance of translating enduring friendship and strategic partnerships between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia into enhanced economic collaboration, increased investment, and mutual business opportunities. He noted that Saudi Arabia has consistently supported Pakistan during challenging times, reflecting the depth of their strategic alliance.
The president commended the organizers for uniting Pakistani and Saudi business communities, observing that such platforms open new avenues for foreign direct investment, encourage private-sector partnerships, and sustain long-term economic growth. He further highlighted that the participation of prominent Saudi investment groups signals expanding opportunities for cooperation, which can accelerate development through joint ventures and enterprise initiatives.
Zardari also stressed the importance of maintaining a supportive and investor-friendly environment to attract foreign capital to Pakistan. Saudi companies participating in the exhibition include Safa Investment, Knowledge Economic City, Sumou Investment, Al-Majidiya, Ulo Real Estate, Al-Diyar Al-Arabiya, Bin Daood Investment, and International Gate Investment. These firms are evaluating potential projects while showcasing developments in Makkah and Madinah to promote cross-border investment.
The event features pavilions from leading Saudi real estate and investment firms, including Prince Mansour bin Mohammed Al Saud, chairman of the Saudi-Pakistan Business Council, and Abdul Aziz Al-Ashrafi, the council’s vice chair, who co-organized the exhibition.
Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative, which aims to diversify the Kingdom’s economy by reducing reliance on oil, underpins its focus on infrastructure, health, education, tourism, and real estate development—sectors that align with Pakistan’s investment opportunities.
