Sudanese Forces Seize Strategic Location in West Kordofan

According to military sources, the Sudanese army, together with allied forces, secured Ayyal Bakhit in West Kordofan state on Saturday, following confrontations with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The sources reported that the army and its allied movements, operating under the Joint Force, had cleared the RSF from the region and that Sudanese troops subsequently released footage announcing the takeover.

Ayyal Bakhit is situated in the northwest of Al‑Khuwei locality, close to the border with North Kordofan and north of Al‑Nuhud within West Kordofan.

Earlier on Saturday, the army announced that its air defenses intercepted an FH‑95 drone over Ayyal Bakhit, though it did not disclose the operator.

Military sources indicated that the army continues its advance across North, West and South Kordofan, where fighting with the RSF has escalated since October 25. On Thursday, the army reported securing four additional areas in North and South Kordofan, destroying 40 RSF combat vehicles and capturing 43 more.

On Tuesday, the army declared the capture of Umm Marahik, also located in Al‑Khuwei locality. In recent weeks, it has announced control over eleven areas in North Kordofan.

The conflict between the Sudanese army and the RSF, which erupted in April 2023, has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions.
