ISLAMABAD — On Tuesday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan issued an order directing that former Prime Minister Imran Khan be transferred from prison to a private hospital in the capital for a thorough medical examination, following persistent concerns from his family and personal physicians over his health and access to care.
A three‑judge panel instructed that Khan be brought to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad within the coming days and evaluated by a multidisciplinary medical board that will include gezek specialists and his primary physician, Dr Faisal Sultan.
The court also ordered prison officials to allow Khan weekly meetings with family members and telephone conversations with his sons.
