Federal authorities in Miami arrested manosphere influencers Andrew and Tristan Tate on Saturday afternoon, as reported by the Associated Press. The specific charges against the brothers have not yet been disclosed.
This marks another legal encounter for the Tate siblings. In 2022 they were detained in Romania by anti‑terrorism officials on allegations of human trafficking and rape. The following year Romanian prosecutors formally charged them with those crimes, according to the BBC.
Andrew Tate has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. After being released from house arrest in 2023 he told reporters, “We have been innocent from the start, and I trust the Romanian judicial system to have reached the correct decision in setting us free.”
Reuters notes that a Romanian court recently lifted all preventive judicial restrictions on the Tate brothers while investigators continue to examine the case.
In May 2025 British prosecutors authorized 21 charges against Andrew and Tristan Tate, encompassing rape, actual bodily harm and human trafficking. Andrew faces ten counts linked to three alleged victims, whereas Tristan is charged with eleven counts related to a single alleged victim.
Andrew Tate first gained public attention as a contestant on the UK’s “Big Brother” in 2016. He was removed from the show after a video emerged showing him appearing to strike a woman with a belt; both he and the woman later said the act was consensual. Since then he has built a following as a polarizing, hyper‑masculine online influencer.
