The Academy Museum Gala returned to Los Angeles on October 17 for its annual fundraiser supporting the institution’s exhibitions and accessibility initiatives. This year’s ceremony honored filmmaker John Carpenter alongside actors Colman Domingo and Charlize Theron, drawing a heavy concentration of music industry talent to the red carpet.

Taylor Swift headlined the musical portion of the evening with a concise four-song set. She opened with “Blank Space” before delivering the first-ever live performance of “The Fate of Ophelia.” The set continued with “I Knew It, I Knew You”—a track penned for the upcoming Toy Story 5—and closed with her classic “Love Story.”

Swift was introduced by Conan O’Brien, who lends his voice to the character Smarty Pants in the animated sequel. O’Brien offered effusive praise, telling the crowd, “It’s an insane, unprecedented honor to introduce a cherished member of our little Toy Story 5 family. She’s John, Paul, George and Ringo all in one. Taylor Swift.”

Following her performance, Swift was photographed alongside Sabrina Carpenter and Cara Delevingne. The musician-heavy guest list also included Teyana Taylor, A$AP Rocky, Tinashe, Rosé, Janelle Monáe, Clairo, Maya Hawke, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Hudson, and Common.

Clips from Swift’s performance circulated widely on social media shortly after the event concluded.
