Former President Donald Trump issued a forceful endorsement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday, just nine days before the country’s upcoming election. In a post on Truth Social, Trump lauded Netanyahu’s leadership and argued that his replacement would force the United States to confront Iran without Israeli assistance.
Addressing the “great people of Israel,” Trump described Netanyahu as a “Great Warrior Prime Minister” and a vital partner in countering the Islamic Republic of Iran, referencing the regime’s long-standing hostility toward both Israel and the United States.
The former president portrayed the incumbent as indispensable to the American strategy of containing the Iranian threat. He suggested that any alternative leadership in Jerusalem would effectively leave Washington to manage the challenge alone.
“If Israel has the wrong Leader, which would be anyone other than Bibi, America will have to do this work ourselves, and I am not inclined to do so,” Trump wrote.
This is a developing story.
