Teledyne Technologies Inc. (TDY) announced on Friday that its subsidiary Teledyne Qioptiq has been awarded the first option under a German Bundeswehr contract for PHOENIX‑XR cooled thermal weapon sights, valued at over $21 million.
Deliveries are set to commence early next year and will be completed in line with the Bundeswehr’s deployment schedule.
The contract falls under an existing framework agreement with Germany that could be worth as much as $175 million.
Once fulfilled, the order will see Qioptiq deliver more than 1,000 PHOENIX‑XR units to the German Ministry of Defence.
The award represents Teledyne Qioptiq’s largest European procurement of cooled thermal weapon sights to date.
The PHOENIX‑XR is a cooled medium‑wave infrared thermal weapon sight engineered for long‑range precision engagements.
Teledyne Technologies shares closed 0.25% higher at $607.87 on the NYSE, while after‑hours trading saw the stock dip 0.91% to $602.34.
