AEW
The Butcher and The Blade have reportedly left All Elite Wrestling (AEW) after their contracts expired.
The team made their AEW debut in November 2019, aligning with Allie (The Bunny).
Injuries sidelined them for periods: The Butcher’s last AEW match was in February 2025, while The Blade’s was in January 2024.
According to Fightful Select, AEW chose not to renew their contracts, making both wrestlers free agents eligible to sign elsewhere.
They most recently teamed at Limitless Wrestling’s Bissell Brothers Bash in April, defeating former WWE talent Bryce Donovan and Vinny Scalice.
During their AEW tenure, they associated with various factions, including groups led by MJF, Kip Sabian, and the Matt Hardy Family Office.
Potential Next Steps for The Butcher & The Blade
Recent speculation suggests WWE might be seeking to refresh its tag‑team division, which could open the door for The Butcher & The Blade.
However, within AEW’s hierarchy, they were not top‑draws, and at ages 48 and 46, they are beyond the developmental stage.
Since returning from injury, Blade has appeared for GCW and several Canadian promotions, while The Butcher competed for Mystery Wrestling, challenging for the PROGRESS Atlas Championship against Will Kroos (now Mason Rook in NXT), Bear Bronson, and Gabby Forza.
We will continue to monitor their career moves and wish them success in their next ventures.
