The Chicks were forced to postpone their concert at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre just hours before the scheduled start time due to illness affecting the trio.

The group announced the delay on Monday, November 2, rescheduling the performance for Wednesday, November 4. All existing tickets will be honored for the new date, and refunds are available at the point of purchase for those unable to attend.

Fans expressed disappointment over the last-minute change, with many having traveled significant distances for the event. One commenter noted, “Hope someone feels better! My friends and I planned for this months in advance, traveled 4+ hours and can’t attend Wednesday date.” Another shared, “Flew in from Canada with my mother-in-law and 15-year-old daughter. I saw your show in Vancouver in 2006, 20 years ago. We go home tomorrow, will miss the Wednesday show. Really sad news. Take care.”

The Chicks are currently on their Taking the Long Way 20th anniversary tour, celebrating the album that marked their first release following lead singer Natalie Maines’ 2003 statement expressing shame over George W. Bush’s Texas origins and denouncing the Iraq War. The comments sparked widespread backlash, including radio bans and audience boycotts, with the band facing jeers during live performances.

The controversy influenced the album’s early tracks, including the single “Not Ready to Make Nice,” which addressed their commitment to speaking out despite consequences. The record later earned five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Song of the Year.
