Defending her AEW Women’s World Championship, Thekla made a surprise return to STARDOM ahead of the upcoming Forbidden Door 2026 pay‑per‑view.
Tensions escalated at the June 20 STARDOM The Conversation event, marking Thekla’s first STARDOM appearance since April 2025.
During the segment, Thekla launched a scathing attack on STARDOM President Taro Okada, brandishing her belt and attempting to shave his head.
Starlight Kid rushed in to intervene, delivering a suplex that sent Thekla reeling, prompting Thekla to escape the ring to avoid Kid’s moonsault.
Thekla reminded the audience that Okada had previously “fired” her, alluding to her loss to Sayaka Kurara at the April 27, 2025 All‑Star Queendom.
A stipulation from that earlier bout required Thekla to join Cosmic Angels should she lose, but she instead confronted Okada, prompting him to write her off STARDOM in storyline before her real departure.
Thekla officially debuted in AEW shortly after, appearing on the May 28, 2025 episode of Dynamite.
Tony Khan praised Thekla earlier this year, labeling her the “MVP of new arrivals” during a review of AEW’s debut talent.
Given Khan’s high regard, Thekla is expected to secure prominent storylines and recurring appearances in NJPW in the coming seasons.
