From what I understand, he plays through discomfort and pain, and he can’t compete at the highest level while feeling that way, so he decided to withdraw and inform both us and Chelsea. That’s my understanding.
Despite the international hiccup, Chelsea remain confident that their key player will recover fully and lead the club’s domestic campaign.

Jones added, “Manchester United have been linked with a move for the 24‑year‑old this year, and there is also speculation that he might be unsettled in London and would prefer a return to the north. Those suggestions are not currently affecting Palmer’s focus.”
