Bukayo Saka has been omitted from the starting lineup for England’s crucial Nations League clash against Czechia at Wembley on Tuesday, with manager Thomas Tuchel opting to rotate his squad for the final match of the international break.
The Arsenal star’s absence from the starting eleven comes just days after he scored a brilliant brace during England’s historic 7-0 demolition of Croatia. No injury concerns have been reported for Saka, indicating the decision is a purely tactical rotation.
Tuchel has opted for a balanced squad mix, resting key starters from the Croatia clash while ensuring vital experience remains on the pitch for the hosts.
In Saka’s place, attacking duo Morgan Rogers and Eberechi Eze are handed starting roles, joining skipper Harry Kane to form England’s front three. Jude Bellingham retains his starting position in midfield, partnering Elliot Anderson and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
England enters Tuesday’s fixture sitting second in Group A3 of League A, trailing Spain. The Three Lions have secured back-to-back victories without conceding a single goal and will aim to conclude the international window on a high. Meanwhile, captain Harry Kane is poised to make history, set to equal Peter Shilton’s all-time record of 125 caps for England.
