Deshaun Watson is set to start at quarterback for the Browns in Week 1, but head coach Todd Monken indicated there’s a possibility another quarterback could see action against the Jaguars.
Rookie Taylen Green, the team’s sixth-round pick, secured a spot on the 53-man roster, and Monken addressed this during a Monday press conference. When asked if a specialized package might be developed to utilize Green’s athleticism, he responded, “There could be a package where we have him.”
While Monken emphasized this is merely a possibility rather than an active strategy, he also noted that involving three quarterbacks might be excessive. The Jaguars are unlikely to be overly concerned, but Green’s inclusion would be a key detail to monitor if he remains off the inactive list for Sunday’s game.
