Hollywood often produces unexpected connections, and the latest involving Tom Cruise and Keith Urban is particularly notable. According to a June 12 report from Heat World, sources indicated that Cruise has contacted the country musician following Urban’s recent divorce from actress Nicole Kidman.
A source stated, “Cruise has softened over time and now expresses regret for Keith, noting similarities to his own divorce from Nicole. He feels a responsibility to assist, as he understands Keith’s situation intimately.”
Cruise and Kidman were married from December 1990 until their 2001 divorce. Kidman later married Urban in 2006, and their recent separation has drawn comparable media attention.
“The goal is to provide Keith with a constructive conversation, offering support and coping strategies to ease his current stress and isolation,” the source added.
Cruise’s current support contrasts with past behavior, where he reportedly criticized Urban as a “hillbilly crooner” unworthy of Kidman. However, recent events have prompted Cruise to defend Urban, suggesting he believes Urban is being unfairly targeted in a “war of narratives.”
Urban has faced difficulties post-divorce. Insiders reported to Woman’s Day in June 2026 that he feels “lost” since the breakup. His first public appearance after the divorce was at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 17, where he appeared visibly discomforted.
“His smile didn’t reach his eyes,” the source noted, “indicating he was struggling without his ex-partner.”
Urban’s relationship with his daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, has also been strained. Faith, who spends time with Kidman under custody arrangements, reportedly resentful of Sunday for unfollowing and later refollowing Urban on Instagram. “Faith, a daddy’s girl, is missing her father’s presence and feels caught in the conflict,” the source explained. “She’s upset that Sunday took such a public step.”
Faith is also grappling with her parents’ separation, feeling “shattered” and unsure of her place. “She knows her mother needs her, but she’s worried about her father, who lacks the support network Nicole has,” the source added.
