During a recent episode of his “What Happened When” podcast, longtime commentator Tony Schiavone voiced frustration with wrestling fans who root for AEW to fail. He argued that the promotion’s existence benefits the broader wrestling industry by fostering healthy competition.

In his remarks, Schiavone emphasized that having multiple major promotions vying for audiences improves the overall product. “I don’t know why some WWE fans want to see AEW disintegrate,” he said. “What you don’t realize is how valuable competition is for the wrestling business.”
