Pamela de la Fuente serves as a managing editor for NerdWallet’s personal finance content, overseeing coverage of budgeting, money-making, consumer credit, and debt.

She and her team can speak to the importance of credit scores, strategies for reducing grocery costs, choosing a side hustle, and free identity protection methods, among other topics.

Before this role, she directed NerdWallet’s tax and retirement reporting.

Pamela came to NerdWallet from Hallmark Cards, Sprint Corp., and The Kansas City Star, bringing more than 20 years of writing and editing experience.

She is recognized as a thought leader in content diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, and works to make financial content clear and accessible to broad audiences.

A graduate of the Maynard Institute’s Maynard 200 program and the National Association of Black Journalists Executive Leadership Academy, she has twice received the Kansas City Association of Black Journalists’ President’s Award and co-founded NerdWallet’s Nerds of Color employee resource group.
