Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin is set to join Serie A outfit Fiorentina on loan with an obligation to buy, according to reports from Sky Sports and club insider Alasdair Gold.
The agreement comes after months of speculation over the Romanian international’s future in North London, with the Italian club finalizing terms to bring the center-back back to Italy.
The permanent transfer obligation is valued at £21.4 million (€25 million) and will be triggered automatically if Dragusin meets a predetermined number of competitive appearances for Fiorentina, per Alasdair Gold’s reporting.
Tottenham have also protected the player’s long-term value by including a 10% sell-on clause, ensuring the club retains a portion of any future profit from a subsequent sale.
Understand Spurs have agreed a loan with obligation to buy deal with Fiorentina for Radu Dragusin to depart. The obligation is £21.4m (25m euros) if he hits a set amount of games, plus a 10% sell-on on any profit Fiorentina should make on the Romanian with a later sale.

This arrangement guarantees Tottenham receives 10% of any financial profit Fiorentina generates from a future sale of the 24-year-old defender.
Sky Sports confirmed that verbal agreements are in place, with formal paperwork expected to be finalized quickly to allow the player to join his new teammates in Florence.

This marks the latest transfer agreement as Tottenham continue their significant summer rebuild under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
In recent months, Spurs have made several additions including free transfers for Andy Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka, along with a £52 million signing of Brighton center-back Jan Paul van Hecke.
The club has also broken their transfer record twice, spending £85 million on Mateus Fernandes and agreeing to a £100 million deal for Sandro Tonali to strengthen the midfield.
On the departure front, Tottenham recouped £50 million from selling center-back Luka Vuskovic to Brighton and are set to offload Alejo Veliz to Brazilian side Bahia.
Dragusin’s tenure at Tottenham proved challenging after joining with high expectations, having rejected a late approach from Bayern Munich. Despite his considerable reputation, he struggled to secure regular first-team selection under various tactical setups.
His playing opportunities were further limited by a severe knee injury that ruled him out for a substantial period. A return to Serie A offers the 24-year-old Romanian the chance to regain form and fitness after previous successful spells with Genoa, Juventus, and Sampdoria.
