Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Lucas Bergvall has informed the club that he wants to leave them this summer.
The 20‑year‑old, highly regarded by the London club, has confirmed to Tottenham that he is seeking a new challenge, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.
The player is attracting significant interest from clubs both in England and abroad, although it remains unclear which team, if any, will make an offer to sign him.
Chelsea have previously attempted to secure his services.
Bergvall is recognized as a talented player with a bright future. He has already displayed his abilities in the Premier League with Tottenham and is expected to develop further under professional coaching and guidance.
Tottenham will likely be reluctant to sell him readily. With a long‑term contract in place, he is expected to carry a substantial transfer value, and it is uncertain whether any club is willing to pay a premium for his services.
The 20‑year‑old is versatile, capable of performing as a central or attacking midfielder, and could prove to be a valuable asset for the right club.
He was previously linked with elite clubs such as Barcelona before joining Tottenham, and it is anticipated that there will be plenty of interest in him during the summer transfer window.
This situation represents a significant setback for the North London club, which is looking to strengthen its squad. With the midfielder expressing a clear desire to leave, it will be challenging for Tottenham to compel him to stay.
