Tottenham are preparing to travel to Spain for a training camp and team-bonding retreat following their Premier League fixture against Manchester United this Saturday.

Roberto de Zerbi’s squad currently sits at the bottom of the league table after a winless opening five matches, which included two draws.

With a nine-day window between the trip to Old Trafford and Monday’s home game against newly-promoted Coventry City, De Zerbi believes a stay in Marbella, southern Spain, could help restart their campaign.

Temperatures in Marbella are expected to reach 25 degrees, contrasting with rain forecast for Enfield, where Tottenham’s training base is located.

Organizing such a trip this early in the season, and particularly so soon after the international break, is unusual, as English clubs typically seek warmer weather during the winter months.

Tottenham invested more than £250m on new talent during the summer, adding 10 players to their squad.

The busy fixture schedule and extended international break have left the new-look squad, with Savio, Tosin Adarabioyo, Mykhailo Mudryk and Omar Marmoush joining in the final week of the transfer window, with little opportunity to gel.
