Trey Miguel is poised for a return to competition following confirmation that he has been cleared to compete after an injury layoff. The TNA star discussed his rehabilitation work while coaching at Darren McCarty’s newly opened Grind Time Wrestling Academy during an appearance on Local 4 News in Detroit, Michigan.

“I’ve been out for four months because of it,” Miguel told the outlet. “I was cleared yesterday.”

Miguel sustained a fractured patella during his TNA International Championship match against Mustafa Ali at TNA Rebellion, an injury that forced him to miss Slammiversary for a second consecutive year. The two-time TNA X Division Champion and former International Champion has been active on social media regarding his recovery timeline earlier this week.

He is scheduled to lead beginner-level classes at Grind Time Wrestling Academy, which officially launched this week. While there remains no official timeline for his TNA television return, the company recently concluded a week of television tapings covering the aftermath of Slammiversary.
