US President Donald Trump announced on Friday the appointment of Katie Zacharia as White House press secretary. She previously served as a communications adviser for Trump’s Truth Social platform and assumes the role after Karoline Leavitt’s departure in August.
Trump praised Zacharia, noting her “unblemished record of support and unwavering loyalty, as well as her brilliance as a supporter.”
Trump expressed confidence in her, stating on Truth Social that he believes “Katie will deliver strong results for our country as the next White House press secretary, as she has the respect of, and will work fantastically with, the media, the American people, and my administration.”
The New York Times was the first to report the appointment.
