DUBAI: US President Donald Trump described Yemen’s Houthi rebels as “misbehaving very badly” after they escalated missile and drone assaults on Saudi soil, though he offered no concrete plan for a US response.
“Well, the Houthis are misbehaving very badly. No good,” Trump told reporters late Monday as he left the White House en route to Ohio, when questioned about possible actions against the group.
His comments followed a series of Houthi attacks on Saudi targets, notably the strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that left at least 13 dead and over 300 injured during the weekend.
Saudi officials have prolonged the closure of Riyadh’s airport until Saturday.
Trump added on Saturday that he is weighing possible US military measures against the Houthis in reaction to the airport attack.
