WASHINGTON, June 4 (Reuters) – U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that he believes meaningful progress is being made in efforts to broker peace between Israel and Lebanon, emphasizing that Lebanon has a right to achieve stability.
During a meeting with reporters at the White House, Trump disclosed that he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and noted having communicated directly with Hezbollah on the matter. “I think progress is being made,” he said, adding, “It’s been going on for a long time.”
