President Donald Trump shared an AI‑generated photograph depicting his airport reception for Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday, in which most participants were digitally removed, leaving only his aide Natalie Harp visible.
The picture, posted on Truth Social, captures Trump saluting next to Xi on the tarmac at Joint Base Andrews as a military jet flies overhead.
Actual footage of the event shows that Trump and Xi were accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and Chinese First Lady Peng Liyuan.
In the posted image, the two men appear alone, while the first ladies are either cropped out or obscured.
Neither the White House nor Trump has offered any comment on the image.
She has also attracted scrutiny for her close proximity to Trump and the extensive access she enjoys, with reports indicating tension among other staff members regarding her influence.
Harp is frequently observed standing just behind or beside Trump at public events, leading to speculation that she was the aide depicted in the AI‑altered image of his meeting with Xi Jinping.
