He emphasized the need for strength and toughness in immigration enforcement but offered no condolences to the victims’ families.
The Houston incident involved ICE agents shooting Araujo in his vehicle; the Department of Homeland Security said he attempted to weaponize the car, a claim disputed by passengers. In Maine, agents shot Guerrero after he allegedly attempted to flee; his family says he was legally residing in the U.S. and leaves behind a wife and child.
