Turkish seismic research vessel Bölge is slated to arrive in Karachi in the near future, bringing state‑of‑the‑art ocean‑bottom pressure sensors and full‑scale seismic profiling capabilities to the region. This new asset will strengthen the capacity for shallow‑sea exploration and provide critical data for marine resource assessment and tectonic monitoring. The departure was coordinated with local authorities, who have prepared the port facilities and security protocols for the vessel’s docking. Data collection operations are expected to begin in early March, aiming to deliver initial findings by the end of the year.
