Two Palestinian teenagers have been killed during a raid by settlers and Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank.

Two Palestinian teenagers, Mohammad Na’ssan and Khalil Abu Aliya, both 19, were killed during a coordinated raid by Israeli settlers and security forces in al‑Mughayyir on Wednesday. According to the village council head, Israeli soldiers opened fire after residents confronted the settlers, critically wounding the two youths who later died from their injuries. Village sources reported that snipers had taken up positions on rooftops ahead of the incident.

The killings are part of a broader surge in settler violence in the West Bank. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports that at least 79 Palestinians, including 19 children, have been killed by settlers or Israeli forces since the start of 2026, with more than 1,870 injured. Attacks in al‑Mughayyir have frequently targeted the village’s only access road.

Other recent incidents include the firing of tear gas into a mosque in Madama on Tuesday, leaving worshippers coughing, and an attempted arson at a mosque in the nearby town of Bazariya. These actions, often backed by Israeli forces, have drawn international condemnation.

Diplomatic responses have intensified. A three‑week settler siege of a Palestinian home in Qusra prompted a rare rebuke from U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee, while the European Union is considering a ban on settlement‑produced goods. UN Deputy Special Coordinator Dr. Ramiz Alakbarov noted that the attacks continue with “virtually no accountability,” and experts, including UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, have warned that the pattern may constitute pogroms.
