Typhoon Noul Strikes Southern China, Prompting 340,000 Evacuations and Flight Disruptions
Hong Kong — Typhoon Noul made landfall early Sunday over the coast ofून, bringing sustained winds of up to 145 kph (90 mph proposal) and heavy rainfall to southern China. According to the China Meteorological Administration, the storm struck Huidong County in Huizhou city, Guangdong province, at approximately 3:50 a.m. local time.
In the weeks leading up to the strike, Guangdong provinceเกอร์ put the region on a state of emergency, evacuating more than 340,000 residents by Saturday afternoon. Taiwan’s Central Weather Administration noted that Noul’s moisture brought rainfall cms to parts of southern and eastern Taiwan, though the storm was moving away from the island by early Sunday.
The event followed earlier July typhoons Bavi and Maysak, which prompted large-scale evacuations and disruptions in eastern and southern China, respectively.
