Tyson Fury is gearing up for a highly anticipated rematch with Anthony Joshua scheduled for December, yet the former boxer is also charting a different path by signing as the manager of a promising deep‑rise in the division.
At age 38, Fury had earlier declared 2026 his final calendar year in the ring, envisioning Joshua as his last opponent, though he entertained the possibility of a triple‑header spell against Oleksandr Usyk should the Ukrainian stall his own retirement.
On his popular “Furocity” TikTok channel, the veteran fighter shared his latest move to transition away from the gloves. He informed fans that he has secured a management contract for 24‑year‑old Russian heavyweight Aleksei Dronov, a prospect trained by Sugar Hill Steward who boasts an unbeaten record of 12 wins, ten of them by knockout. Dronov has begun fighting on U.S. soil and could offer a platform to showcase his ascendancy under Fury’s guidance.
“Tyson Fury here and I have got the biggest news ever. I have just signed the next heavyweight champion of the world, Aleksei Dronov.”
“I will be managing him to the top, it’s the future heavyweight champion of the world, you heard it here first. Remember that name, Aleksei Dronov, git up!
“We are ready to take on all of these young pretenders, whoever you are out there – this guy is on your a**!”
The 6’5” southpaw captured gold medals as a super‑heavyweight at both the 2018 European and World Youth Championships, as well as the Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires that year. Since then Dronov has compiled a pristine 12‑0 record, ten of his victories coming by knockout, though he has yet to step outside the United States. If Furry follows through, Dronov could soon appear on cards alongside Fury for the historic Joshua bout.
